The Royal Hallamshire Hospital Neurocare Brainwave Appeal
The Rutland Hotel supports this registered charity based in Sheffield. Neurocare fund equipment for patients with head injury, brain tumours, strokes and cancers of the nervous system. Botanical Gardens

Sheffield Botanical Gardens cover 19 acres and were first opened in 1836. Originally designed by Robert Marnoc in the Gardenesque style, the site now has fifteen different garden areas featuring collections of plants from all over the world, including Mediterranean, Asian, American prairie-style, woodland and rock-and-water plantings.

The range of services supplied by the EIS spans sports science and sports medicine. Support includes applied physiology, biomechanics, medical consultation, medical screening, nutritional advice, performance analysis, psychology, podiatry, strength and conditioning coaching, sports massage and sports vision. The Performance Lifestyle programme provides supplementary career and education advice.
The quality of the delivery is assured by the close relationship the EIS is developing with national governing bodies, performance directors, coaches, and the athletes themselves. Almost 2,000 competitors are currently in the EIS system.

Ice Sheffield

Ice Sheffield opened its doors to the public in May 2003. Sport England funded this £15.7 million major development, a joint project between Sheffield International Venues, Sheffield City Trust, Sheffield City Council and Governing Bodies.
This state of the art venue is the regions premier twin padded ice rink and has already hosted a wide range of prestigious events including the British Adult Ice Dance Championships and the British Ice Figure and Dance Championships in 2003 and 2005. Magna Science Adventure Centre

Spray, squirt, mist and drench in Aqua-Tek the UK’s largest outdoor, interactive, water play area. Visitors are able to follow the water treatment process…make it safe to drink, treat the waste water, then send it back to the river; trace the colourful floor graphics to discover the reservoirs, filtration and disinfectant points; and interact at the role-play areas around the exhibition. Youngsters will also be able to play the part of particles or micro-organisms which follow a clear route to complete their ‘treatment’ or cleansing journey.
Magna (Corporate venue)
Awarded gold for business tourism at the Enjoy England Awards in 2006, Magna is now officially the best events venue in the UK and with a newly opened £2.7 million corporate, the centre now has even more possibilities when it comes to what event organisers can achieve.
Magna’s corporate team is highly experienced and committed to providing organisers with an event that has a distinctive theme, style and atmosphere. The former Templeborough steelworks already hosts a series of unique spaces including the Big Hall and Magna Arena, a giant blank canvas that has dedicated kitchen and service facilities and can be transformed into just about anything, including conferences for 2500, dinners for a 1000 guests and concerts for 3500 people. Sheffield United Football Club

Sheffield United Football Club, based at Bramall Lane in Sheffield, currently play in the English Football League Championship after they were relegated from the Premier League in 2007. Their nickname is The Blades, due to Sheffield’s worldwide reputation of steel production.
Sheffield United won the League in 1898 and the FA Cup in 1899, 1902, 1915 and 1925. They were beaten finalists in the FA Cup in 1901 and 1936. Their best performance in the League Cup was reaching the semi finals in 2003.

Sheffield Wednesday Football Club

Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, based at Hillsborough Stadium, Sheffield, currently competes in the Championship division. Wednesday are one of the oldest professional clubs in the world. At the start of the 20th century, when a player presented them with an owl mascot to honour their stadium at Owlerton, adjacent to Hillsborough, the club became known as "The Owls".
The Owls have won four league titles, three FA Cups and one League Cup, but their League Cup triumph in 1991 is their only major trophy since World War II. They did reach both domestic cup finals in 1993, but lost 2-1 to Arsenal each time.
